Wheat flour (HS Code 1101.00.10) has been brought under the import control license (ICL) by the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2336/45 dated 14.06.2023, with effect from 14.06.2023.

Accordingly, import licenses will be issued by this department for importation of wheat flour related to the following cases.

• Imported stocks of wheat flour should be shipped on or before 14.06.2023 (must arrive at the port in Sri Lanka, on or before 30.06.2023).

• Letter of Credit (LC) established on or before 14.06.2023 for importation of wheat flour (must arrive at the port in Sri Lanka, before 13.08.2023).

• An advance payment has been made on or before 14.06.2023 for the importation of wheat flour (must arrive at the port in Sri Lanka, before 13.08.2023).

Obtaining an Import Control License is not required for clearance of the wheat flour from the Sri Lanka Customs that has been arrived to the port in Sri Lanka on or before 13.06.2023.
